London’s Def Pressé label proudly announces Source Material by Deca ; the second in its Def Pressé Editions-KPM Crate Diggers series—part of its exclusive partnership with KPM/EMI —in which artists dig deep into the archives of the legendary KPM sound library. In promotion of the forthcoming release, Deca is pleased to share the project’s third focus track, “Sleepwalker” which epitomizes instrumental hip-hop at its finest. Deca ’s ethereal production captures a summertime feel with a flute melody taken from “Lonely Ballade” by Jim Lawless [TIMLP 1006-10]. Source Material is due out on Nov. 19 through all major DSPs and is available now for pre-order . Source Material by Deca

With his new album Flux , now available, NYC’s Deca proves that the best instrumental music is more than capable of telling a story and enrapturing a listener without its creator saying a single word. While we do get to hear from Deca on a few featured remixes, he lets his art do the talking across the remainder of the 17-track journey of sounds, dust-covered samples, and simply flooring compositions.
