Due to the success and fanfare of 2022's "Word...Life (Instrumentals)" , it only seemed right to feed the demand for the full instrumentals to O.C. 's classic 1997 sophomore album, "Jewelz" . Sought after by DITC fans worldwide, for the first time in 26 years, the complete collection of instrumentals is now available. Prior to this, there was only a vinyl bootleg floating around that was released over 20 years ago, which only featured some of the instrumentals that had been released on 12" singles plus some fake 'looped' beats from the album which were not the actual instrumentals with the drops, changes and arrangements. Here's the latest in The Jazz Jousters sessions, they're closing season five with this album that they've had ready to go for a while. So allow them to introduce 'Vibraphonics' . The Jazz Jousters were simply challenged to flip or compose music using the Vibraphone . It's safe to say it was a good turn out with a 16 track deep track-list. “Tiene que llover” , Mauricio Dawid 's second album, is the result of a session held in August 2022 at Espacio Aguaribay studio. Before the recording, the quartet (completed by Carto Brandán on drums, Sergio Wagner on trumpet and flügelhorn, and Santiago Leibson on piano) had made a few live performances in which they had mainly played standards. Dawid knew that before Leibson returned to the United States, where he had been living for years, they had to leave a record of the group's sound. That is the spirit of Tiene que llover , to be rather a document of a moment and a group of people than a carefully crafted work. The studio of choice was Espacio Aguaribay , which houses one of the best pianos you can find in Buenos Aires. The idea was to make the sound as fresh and spontaneous as possible, so only a few takes were done for each of the songs (which, by the way, Dawid's accompanists learned on the spot). It was fun stuff, people seemed to enjoy it, and a few musicians expressed interest in being involved on a second one, so Yoni Den setup an Open submission, with a simple brief “original music which is or is not bonkwave” and gave the project the subtitle “Bonkwave Nights” as a kind of suggestion of theme. The whole Bonk Wave thing originated on Mastodon , and that is where most of the posting and conversation is, but it does stretch out into a few other independent music communities like Lines and STBB Forever .
