Pianist and composer Rob Clearfield presents Ashes and Diamonds , a 5-movement work exploring the nature of transitions from one era to another, and how cataclysmic events bring about both positive and negative changes. With a title borrowed from Andrzej Wadja 's 1958 film, Rob Clearfield 's cinematic approach to composition is on full display as he and his quartet (feat. In 2022, after the loss of Nicolás Ojeda 's father, Julio Ojeda (renowned Argentine visual artist) and with the background of recording a version of "The Peacocks" (by Jimmy Rowles ) with the help of Germán Lema on piano as a gift for him before he passed away; soon it was natural to make a complete "Duo record” in tribute to Nicolás's father and with his spirit "in the air" as one more member of the session, a "trio" of double bass, piano and silence...
