MJM x TDM - Millennium Manège


MJM and TDM have been in cahoots for several years as some artists represent both stables, while others occasionally feature on projects on both sides as they're often shooting ideas back and forth from the UK, Canada and France. With this network of collaborators they thought they'd have a go at putting out their first joint release for the listeners of both camps and see what you all think.

So may they present "Millennium Manège", a double album of brand new instrumentals that were all made specifically for this joint venture. With over an hours worth of music from some of the usual suspects that you may either be familiar with, or introduced to for the first time, they hope they've done you justice and you enjoy this album.

Producer Yoni Den shares the release "Not What I Call Bonk Wave Volume 001" by Bonk Knob Records . So the compilation was based around this idea of making music which is or isn’t bonk wave, and the whole thing is very vague, nobody knows what is bonk wave or what is not, so every artist just makes music! Haha! It’s been a really fun project. The name of the compilation also pays homage to those old cheap pop compilations “Now That’s What I Call Music” , and the artwork is inspired by some of the early cover art from those, with the artists listed on the front and all that. The shouting man or music cop is a bonk wave motif! Bonk Knob Records - Not What I Call Bonk Wave - Volume 002 (Disc B)

A compilation of Electronic Music which is or is not #BonkWave only this time it's night time. I’m sure you remember the Bonk Wave compilation in August. It was fun stuff, people seemed to enjoy it, and a few musicians expressed interest in being involved on a second one, so Yoni Den setup an Open submission, with a simple brief “original music which is or is not bonkwave” and gave the project the subtitle “Bonkwave Nights” as a kind of suggestion of theme. The whole Bonk Wave thing originated on Mastodon , and that is where most of the posting and conversation is, but it does stretch out into a few other independent music communities like Lines and STBB Forever .
