Dweller - Orange Feel EP


The Orange Feel EP is basically a very hot summer day depicted in music. Dweller explains the title as, "Orange Feel (orange peel) had a nice ring to it, and all the tracks in their own way make me "feel" summer (warm orange light), the bright mornings right through to the high temperature nights, it's all there."

3 out of 4 tracks feature live guitar and bass, all played by Dweller himself, aside from the bassline on 'In The Morning', played by R. Rollinson. There's also some live synth layers and cuts in places.

The EP is largely created on the MPC2500 with some heavily cut breaks and chopped up sunshine, rich instrumentation and unique structuring. Orange Feel gives constant nods to Dweller's musical inspirations and pays homage to the summer times of previous years.

Producer Yoni Den shares the release "Not What I Call Bonk Wave Volume 001" by Bonk Knob Records . So the compilation was based around this idea of making music which is or isn’t bonk wave, and the whole thing is very vague, nobody knows what is bonk wave or what is not, so every artist just makes music! Haha! It’s been a really fun project. The name of the compilation also pays homage to those old cheap pop compilations “Now That’s What I Call Music” , and the artwork is inspired by some of the early cover art from those, with the artists listed on the front and all that. Bonk Knob Records - Not What I Call Bonk Wave - Volume 002 (Disc B)

A compilation of Electronic Music which is or is not #BonkWave only this time it's night time. I’m sure you remember the Bonk Wave compilation in August. It was fun stuff, people seemed to enjoy it, and a few musicians expressed interest in being involved on a second one, so Yoni Den setup an Open submission, with a simple brief “original music which is or is not bonkwave” and gave the project the subtitle “Bonkwave Nights” as a kind of suggestion of theme. The whole Bonk Wave thing originated on Mastodon , and that is where most of the posting and conversation is, but it does stretch out into a few other independent music communities like Lines and STBB Forever .
